The Centre for Learning at the Okanagan College’s Kelowna Campus houses the library, information services, study rooms, and learning technology stations. The facility is attuned to the growing need for high-tech learning, and addresses cultural and community needs, thus providing a welcoming, functional, and dynamic place for learning, gathering, and socializing. The project is certified LEED® Gold using grey water for irrigation, natural lighting for interior spaces, bio-swales for storm water management, and the use of Pine Beetle wood featured within the building. Steel and glass create a modern facade, contrasted by the curves of the “Centre for Dialog”— a pod-like structure made from indigenous fir. An atrium connects the addition to the library, providing additional study space.
