The Mission Park office building located at 3200 Richter Street in Kelowna is a base building and tenant improvement project. It included the development of the 2 level base buildings for Callahan Property Group and the tenant fit out for the building’s primary client KPMG. The building was constructed and completed in 2013. The tenant improvement project occurred simultaneously during the construction of the base building development in which it is located. KPMG’s office space includes both enclosed and open occupied areas and uses full height clear glass walls to extend maximum daylight and views. This and other environmental considerations ensured the fit out project achieved LEED Gold status. KPMG’s adoption of open and unrestricted design encourages collaboration and communication within the space; client meeting rooms located directly off reception are balanced by the quality of private break out rooms for staff use. Leading edge audio visual capabilities juxtapose the natural and local materials used in the finished interiors – such as pine beetle wall paneling – and the fully equipped staff room supports the concept of user-centered design.
