Yates Supportive Housing is settled around the perimeter of downtown Victoria, BC, where on foot accessibility is the primary source of transportation for the occupants. This modular design is in support of BC Housing as it utilizes an unoccupied site to establish a space to host residents that are in need of mindful care and support.
The project offers indoor and outdoor amenities that function collectively and individually, such as shared lounge and dining spaces, support rooms, and green space that incorporates puppy visits to aid in mental clarity.
With an essential colour palette and fixed accent features, the exterior of the building creates a lightness as it energizes the wellbeing of the residents.
Furthermore, Yates extends its welcome through tailored entrances that are removed from the public, allowing the adjacent outdoor space both new and existing, to branch out towards the sidewalk creating a sense of privacy for the residence yet an enjoyable green space for the public.
