UBC’s Okanagan Campus is located in Kelowna, BC which is the home of the Engineering, Management, and Education Building, or the EME Build- ing. This structure is largely transparent which provides for an abundance of natural lighting. It contains the Faculty of Applied Sciences (Engineering), the Faculty of Management, and the Faculty of Education in a single building. As well, the EME Building acts as a hub for all students on campus, providing book- able study rooms, common areas, and a collegium. Additionally, there are class- rooms, lecture theatres, administration offices, and a variety of teaching and re-search labs.
This project is designed to LEED® Gold Certification through: siting and low flow consumption fixtures; utilizing natural ventilation; lighting via a central atrium; and using an on campus geothermal system.
