The community hall is an addition to the 100 year old CP Rail Station House, replacing the original hall which had been burnt. Working closely with the association’s design committee, a hall was created to facilitate multi-purpose uses such as dancing, a church meeting place, banquets, weddings, exercise classes, etc. for the community and surrounding areas.
The hall seats 250 people, with additional seating on the deck.
The portion of the building materials and resources came through private and public donations, as well as Provincial Grants. Brian Quiring (the ‘Q’ in MQN) and his family, along with other members of the design team, donated personal time and resources to this project. The facility was completed on time, and on budget.
