Our goals throughout this project were to design a new home with sensitivity to the Feng Shui environmental principles, and to capture a 180-degree view. A generous use of windows allows for an abundance of natural light to flood the home and the open floor plan offers magnificent views from every point in the house.
A bridge from the front entry to the living area spans to a lower level pond and water wall feature, inpsired by the home’s natural surroundings. Once over the bridge, the 180-degree view becomes an outstanding focal point that truly brings the outdoors inside. As well, the home features full height glass lakeside exposure to maximize the view from the living area. Integrated with large natural timber frame construction, the residence feels warm, welcoming, and inspired by the Okanagan scenery. The use of corrugated metal flashing balances this style with industrial, modern finishes.
